What to wear this Eid : Our Top picks

With Bakra Eid a mere ten days away, everyone I know is frantically getting their outfits sorted out! While some of you may be locking horns with your darzi and getting into frustrating arguments with the addaywallahs, I’m sure there are others who are out on an exhausting hunt, scouting for the perfect jora that they can grab off the racks…

With the onslaught of so many designers jumping the bandwagon of ready-to-wear & luxury pret, the local fashion scene is flooded with a multitude of designer offerings to choose from, depending on your choice and budget. Of late, I’ve come to realize that it’s an impossible feat to walk out of a mall empty handed (Or maybe it’s just me :p).
So here at AWA, we decided to make things a little easy for you guys by sharing our top picks of the season, that seemed to fit the criteria of the festive days that are upon us…
Sania Maskatiya: With her modern take on cuts and motifs, Maskatiya composes the perfect harmony between embellishment and minimalism in her latest luxury pret range, “Âme-soul”. The collection features 21 distinct designs in Sania Maskatiya’s signature digital prints and hand and machine embroideries. Flattering silhouettes, contemporary cuts and attention to detail is what this collection is all about and would make for a perfect pick for a big fat Eid GT. Psst! That golden cold shoulder net outfit has our heart !

Suffuse by Sana Yasir: The growth this young designer from Lahore has shown in the last couple of years has been nothing short of phenomenal. After creating a stir with swoon-worthy luxury pret and bridals, this design house has now ventured into jewellery making and accessories, coming up with some exquisite pieces that caught our eye. Suffuse’s latest collection is an ode to all things royal and grand, with designs that speak to our inner divas.

Speaking of luxury pret and not mentioning Karachi-based Farah TalibAziz seems like fashion blasphemy! You can trust FTA to always come up with something flirty, feminine and festive to suit every occasion. This Eid’s offerings boasts the signature FTA design philosophy: soft pastel colors, breezy cuts and ruffles galore. The best part ? They’re quite multipurpose and you can always repeat them once you’re done with the Grand Eid Dinner. We likes!_K9A0143
Zara Shahjahan’s MOHR collection carries the designers signature stamp of old-world charm, which is exactly what one needs to stand out on Eid amidst the current trend of stifling prints and excessive accessorizing. Jewel color tones, simplistic designs and fuss-free styling is what MOHR is all about. Adorned with quirky gold motifs blockprinted on pure raw silks and organzas, this collections is festive enough for the occasion. What’s even better: the collection comes in the form of matching separates, giving you creative liberty to put your own spin on it and wear it any way you like! My personal favourite is the deep maroon one – so regal !

For all those who don’t want to spend 20k plus on an eid jora (and save yourselves last minute darzi chase) , we have good news to share :) Design power houses like Sana Safinaz and Sapphire have also launched their festive eid collections, that promise to give you designer wear that is easy on the eyes and the pocket. Their latest range of semi formals consisting of embroidered wraps and tunics on lush fabrics like organza and silks always stand out and make for the perfect statement Eid look.
Protip: These tend to fly off the racks pretty fast and sell out before you can say “eid mubarik” so you better get going!
Happy shopping!
